During pregnancy, the center of gravity changes and so does the stress on the spine. In addition to hormonal changes, laxity of connectivity ligaments develops and shifting of weight-bearing structures occurs. These changes can cause pain in all areas of the spine, especially the lower back. Besides helping relieve discomfort, chiropractic care helps a pregnant woman by ensuring that her nervous system is functioning to full capacity.
